Beth Unger, CIS, has authored a section titled "Kansas State University: Formation of a Virtual Faculty" in the book Game Changers: Education and Information Technologies, to be published by Educause in April 2012 .

Scott DeLoach and Simon Ou, CIS, have been awarded a five-year, $1,000,311 grant from AFOSR for their work titled "Understanding and Quantifying the Impact of Moving-Target Defenses on Computer Networks."

Enrollment for Fall 2012 begins Monday, March 26. Enrollment insructions for CIS majors are available here.

The Computing and Information Sciences Department now has a section on K-State On-line solely for our Seminars, How-To talks, and Distinguished Lecturers.

The section will provide you access to the speakers power points, videos, and any other materials that have been provided. If you wish to have access to this section please email Susan Cregg at scregg@ksu.edu to be added.

Simon Ou, Gurdip Singh, and Eugene Vasserman, CIS, received a two-year $299,652 NSF Scholarship for Service Capacity-Building grant for their project "An Innovative Cybersecurity Curriculum for Civilian and Military Workforce."

Congratulations to Scott DeLoach for winning the College of Engineering Frankenhoff Outstanding Research Award.

In the online struggle for network security, Kansas State University cybersecurity experts are adding an ally to the security force: the computer network itself.
Scott DeLoach, professor of computing and information sciences, and Xinming "Simon" Ou, associate professor of computing and information sciences, are researching the feasibility of building a computer network that could protect itself against online attackers by automatically changing its setup and configuration.

When Kansas State University asked software engineering companies what skills they wanted most in potential employees, the university listened and enhanced its master of software engineering program to ensure its graduates could meet these needs.
